The TP-Link Omada EAP615-Wall is a purpose-built AX1800 Dual-Band WiFi 6 wall-plate access point designed to deliver both wireless and wired connectivity from a single, compact in-wall unit. Ideal for hotels, dormitories, serviced apartments, and other multi-room properties, the EAP615-Wall replaces a standard wall socket to provide each room with dedicated high-speed WiFi and multiple wired Ethernet ports, eliminating the need for a separate access point and network switch in every room.
Wireless Performance and Room Coverage
The EAP615-Wall delivers combined dual-band speeds of up to AX1800, with 574 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and 1201 Mbps on the 5 GHz band, powered by internal omni-directional antennas that provide even signal distribution throughout a room. The access point supports core WiFi 6 (802.11ax) technologies including OFDMA and MU-MIMO, ensuring efficient handling of multiple connected devices such as smartphones, laptops, and smart TVs within a single space. With coverage of up to 100 square meters (1000 ft²) per room, the EAP615-Wall is well matched to standard hotel rooms, dorm rooms, and small apartment units.
Port Configuration and Wired Connectivity
A key feature of the EAP615-Wall is its 4-port Gigabit Ethernet design, consisting of 1 uplink PoE-In port for receiving power and data from the network, and 3 downlink ports, one of which supports PoE-Out passthrough to power a secondary device such as an IP phone or a second access point. This flexible port configuration allows a single EAP615-Wall unit to simultaneously deliver WiFi coverage and wired connections for devices like smart TVs, set-top boxes, or desktop computers, all from one in-wall installation point.
Omada SDN and Centralized Management
The EAP615-Wall integrates into TP-Link's Omada Software-Defined Networking (SDN) platform, enabling centralized cloud management of access points, switches, and gateways from a single interface. This is especially valuable for hotels and multi-unit properties, where administrators need to monitor, configure, and troubleshoot dozens or hundreds of room-level access points from one unified dashboard, whether through the Omada Hardware Controller, Software Controller, or Cloud-Based Controller.
